Eggs in a Basket

By Every Tradition · Every Tradition

From the time we were little, our dad has been the breakfast man! One of our favorites growing up was an egg in a basket. I personally loved it because of the "little bread" dad would make for us!

Ingredients
  • 1 slice of bread
  • 1 large egg
  • Butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. Butter a skillet and heat on medium heat.
  2. Cut a round hole in the center of the bread slice. I often use the lip of a cup to ensure a perfectly round circle (it's the designer in me!).
  3. Lightly butter the bread, then place in the skillet.
  4. Crack egg, drop in the center of the bread slice and cook until sturdy enough to flip.
  5. Flip and cook the other side to desired "doneness."
  6. Salt and pepper.
Enjoy!! Always leaves our little kiddo's happy- especially Benton and Daniel!
