About Every Tradition

Every recipe comes with a story.

We’re the Campbell Girls, all grown up now. We have new last names, husbands, kids, and busy lives, and we’re still gathering around the same family recipes. Between us, we share more than 70 years of marriage and miles of distance stretching from North and South Carolina to Arizona. Some traditions we all share, and some we’ve made our very own. Every Tradition is where we keep them: the dishes that shaped us, the stories behind them, and the new memories we’re making with the next generation. Consider this your invitation in, as an insider in our lives and our kitchens.

Behind each card is someone we love. Grammie, who always welcomed us into her South Carolina kitchen with a pot of veggie soup and her strawberry short cake. Grandma and Grandpa Kline, whose holiday tins of poppycock meant Christmas had arrived. They have since passed away, and cooking their recipes is how we keep their place at the table and pass their love on to our own children. Today each of our kitchen tables is graced with something of our grandparents’: their dishes, goblets, salt and pepper shakers, even an ice cream scoop. Little things that remind us of them every time we set the table.

We each set our tables with the same fine china, a set Mom lovingly collected for every one of us over the years. We have a lot in common (two of us even share the same DNA), but we each have our own personality and our own smile. You can probably guess whose sink is still full at the end of the day, and which one of us turns off the kitchen light on a spotless kitchen.
