Drink More Water!

By Every Tradition · Every Tradition

It's summertime, and staying hydrated is important. For years, people have been drinking water! Water is good for you. In fact, most of us don't drink enough of it. In our family, Diet Dr. Pepper (DDP) takes the place of water way too often! One way to drink enough is to have a water bottle or cup that you like to drink from. Here are a few of our favorites:

1. Tervis Tumbler, lid and straw.
These cups come in several sizes and a variety of colors/patterns. They are insulated and do a great job of keeping your beverage cold (or hot). Just a hint...you can buy these at Bed Bath and Beyond and use a 20% off coupon!

2. Nalgene Water Bottle
The Nalgene water bottle makes the list for several reasons. The most important is that it was a Nalgene water bottle that allowed Ronnie to connect with Alli for the "next time" when they first met. He had left it in the car after a hike, and had to come by the house to get it. The rest is history. They are happily married now! Nalgenes are pretty indestructible; they last; perfect for the "rough and tough."

3. Zoes Refillable Cup
Zoes Kitchen is a new favorite restaurant for us! You must try their chocolate chip cookie (and everything else on the menu) if you ever have a chance. When you take your refill cup to the restaurant, you get a fountain drink for a discounted price. In the meantime, use your cup for water. It is a hefty 32 ounces, so 2 cups a day, and you have plenty of water!

4. Bubba Cup
We have seen these cups at Wal-Mart and Target. You can find them on Amazon too! They come in all shapes and sizes. Of course, the bigger, the better for me...I like to get my water in without too many refills!

If the water in  your house isn't great, a Brita Water pitcher is nice to keep in the refrigerator. To flavor water here are a few ideas:

1. Add fresh lemon or orange slices.

2. Add fresh mint leaves.

3. Add a drop of Essential Oil to your cup (ie. lemon).

4. Add a little bit of juice. My favorites are grape or cranberry.

If you are not drinking enough water, make tomorrow's goal 64 ounces! It's good for you!
